Forecast For March 24-28, 2014


Next week will be filled with macro and microeconomic data from the major world’s economies.

Let us revise key events of the week.

Monday, March 24
First working day will start with the publication of Chinese Manufacturing PMI by HSBC. Current index value is 48.5 points. If the value is under 50, it means that economy is slowing down, which decreases the demand on the raw assets.

French, German and US Manufacturing PMIs will be published during the day.

German, French and Eurozone Service PMIs will be published as well.

Tuesday, March 25
Germany will publish statistical data at 11 a.m.: Business Expectations, IFO Business Climate and Current Assessment of the economic situation.

Britain will publish data about consumer inflation at 11:30 a.m. If stats appear to be better than a forecast, it will support pound’s rate.

US real estate stats will be published at the end of the day: Housing Price Index, S&P/Case Shiller and New House Sales.

Wednesday, March 26
The Governor of the Bank of Australia, Mr. Glenn Stevens, will speak at 8 a.m.

Germany will publish the GFK Consumer Climate index at 9 a.m.

Britain’s GDP will be published at 11:30 a.m.

Traders will shift their attention to the US news at 2:30 p.m., when the number of orders for durables will be published. The results of banks’ stress tests will be announced at 10:30 p.m.

Thursday, March 27
Britain’s retail sales will be published at 11:30 a.m.

Final US GDP in IV quarter of 2013 will be published at 2:30 p.m., as well as the information about consumer spending.

Pending Home Sales will be published at 4 p.m.

Friday, March 28
Japan will publish a block of stats early in the morning: basic CPI, unemployment level, retail sales and household spending.

French GDP and consumer spending will be published at 9:45 a.m.

US will publish information about personal consumer income/spending and a basic personal consumption index at 2:30 p.m.
