JPY/KRW, USD/JPY Flows: Fixing 122.69, BoJ Kuroda to attend Parliament 2pm Tok time; Yonhap: S. Korea reports 2 more MERS deaths with 3 new cases; JPY/KRW near 7-year lows, eye BoK (AVNC8401)

USD/JPY Fixing set at 122.69.

BoJ Gov Haruhiko Kuroda will attend parliament from 2pm Tokyo time - BBG.

Yonhap: S Korea reported 2 more deaths from Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Monday, with three new cases, bringing the total number of people diagnosed with the disease here to 169.

The new cases, including a patient from Seoul's Samsung Medical Center, came from among those who were already suspected of infection after coming in close contact with MERS patients, according to the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The health ministry earlier said over 90% of all fatalities here involved people of old age or those with existing health problems that were apparently worsened by MERS.

On FX, USD/JPY a tad lower at 122.55-60 from 122.70-73, after the fixing demand filled. Nearing the lower of the 2Yen range from 122.45-50 to 124.50-60 Kuroda REER range. Focus on BoJ Kuroda comments at parliament later - could be grilled again o the same issue? Offers at 123.00-10 for now.

JPY/KRW looking offered under 9.000 handle, a 8.96-8.99 - with BoK and Korean MoF watching the KRW strength vs JPY closely. Given concerns over impact on Korean economy, exports and now with the MERS outbreak. Though as seen above, most of the fatalities involved older people and those with existing health problems. JPY/KRW near the 7-year 4-month lows, since Feb 29 2008 8.8826.

USD/KRW at 1,100.1, down from Friday close of 1,107.1. Range of 1,099.3 to 1,104.3 - with talks of Korean exporters, electronics giants month end and also half year end related selling. Offers at 1,105-1,1100. Bids at 1,098-1,099. More bids ato 1,095 - eye any BoK rumours.
