EUR/USD extends slide to 1.1150 area after mixed US data

Gold closes in on $1,800 on impressive US growth data

Gold continues to decline toward the key $1,800 support area on Thursday as the dollar gathers strength after US data releases. The US Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that the economy expanded at an annualized rate of 6.9% in the fourth quarter, compared to the market expectation of 5.5%.
