Dow futures slip as markets fear ‘Brexit’

Dow futures are down more than 1% as referendum results so far show a fierce battle is on between ‘exit’ and ‘remain’ camp.

As per the latest reports, ‘remain’ is in a narrow lead and the tables can quickly turn in favor of ‘exit’.

At one point of time, ‘exit’ vote was leading by 10%. ‘Remain’ now leads by just under 1%. Dow futures currently trade 1.42% lower at 17,660 levels. S&P 500 futures are down 1.6%. S&P VIX futures have jumped 14%.

EUR/USD trims gains, back below 1.1800

Gold keeps the bid tone well in place at the end of the week, now hitting fresh weekly highs and retargeting the key $5,100 mark per troy ounce. The move higher in the yellow metal comes in response to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and modest losses in the US Dollar.
