Weiss ratings: Ripple (XRP) payments could soon launch on Skype

  • The support on Skype comes after a request to have XRP transfers brought on board.
  • Social tipping services are gaining traction around the world on social media platforms.

The cryptocurrency community could soon see the integration of XRP into Microsoft’s communication application, Skype according to tween by Weiss Ratings; a financial assets rating agency. The integration will see users on the platform tip each other as well as send and receive micropayments using an XRP TipBot.

“#XRP may soon get integrated into #Skype, picking up access to 300 million users for their XRP #TipBot app to send messages to users.”

XRP TipBot is a development by XRPL Labs. The bot has already been integrated on other platforms including Twitter, Gmail, Reddit as well as Microsoft Outlook. The support on Skype comes after a request to have XRP transfers brought on board was published on the Skype forum. Microsoft has for a while been testing blockchain solutions as well as several other projects that utilize its Azure cloud platform.
