Negative rates are not the only tool for ECB – B.Coeure

ECB’s Board member Benoit Coeure has somewhat talked down the relevance of the implementation of negative rates by the European Central Bank, saying that they constitute just one more tool for the central bank, and it is not the most important one.

Coeure stressed that negative rates do not deserve such excitement around them, while he noted that they work very well used at moderate levels.
