Citing a Japanese labor ministry official, Reuters reports that the government is considering extending its coronavirus relief employment subsidy to help firms hit by the coronavirus keep furloughed workers on the payroll.
The official said that no decision on the extension has yet been made.
USD/JPY consolidates the downside amid a broadly weaker US dollar and a mild recovery in the risk sentiment.
