UK PM Johnson's spokesman: Won't be assessing possible new lockdown measures before Easter

"If we need to take further steps on lockdown, we will do so," British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's spokesman said on Thursday and added that they will not be assessing the lockdown before Easter.
"We recognise there have been distribution problems with protection equipment but we are confident it is now reaching the frontline," the spokesman further noted. Regarding Brexit, the spokesman reiterated that there are no discussions on extending the transition period.
Market reaction
The GBP/USD pair largely ignored these comments and was last up 0.5% on the day at 1.2437.
