Separately, the UK goods trade balance report was released, which arrived at -12.72 billion in June, versus 11 billion expectations and -11.306 billion last. Total trade balance came in at -4.564 billion in June versus -2.500 billion expected and -2.516 billion previous.

EUR/USD makes a U-turn, focus on 1.1900

Gold keeps the bid tone well in place on Wednesday, retargeting the $5,100 zone per troy ounce on the back of modest losses in the US Dollar and despite firm US Treasury yields across the curve. Moving forward, the yellow metal’s next test will come from the release of US CPI figures on Friday.
