Analysts at Nomura, in respect to the Trump v Comey investigations, said that Mr Trump is not defenceless.
"The extent of Mr Trump’s isolation will depend on how his approval ratings with voters develop. As Mr Trump still has the democratic mandate within his party, it is difficult for the Republican Party to turn on him."
"Part of Mr Trump’s election appeal was being an anti-establishment symbol. Impeachment charges add fuel to Mr Trump’s argument that the media and intelligence agencies are fundamentally against him."
"This can appeal to Mr Trump’s core support base, and makes a decline in approval ratings less likely. But if the polling among Republicans starts to head lower, then Mr Trump is in trouble."
