EU’s Gentiloni: Budget rules need adjustment but no debt cancellation

Dashing expectations of canceling the coronavirus pandemic induced debt, the European Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni said that the European Union (EU) budget rules need to be more consistent with expected higher levels of sovereign debt, in his interview with CityAM.

"In Europe debts cannot be cancelled,” Gentiloni added.

EUR/USD trims losses, back to 1.1830
