EUR/USD Technical Analysis: Spot appears consolidative in the near term. Still below 1.1600

  • EUR/USD is prolonging the erratic performance so far this week, although a breakout of the 1.1600 handle in a sustainable fashion remains elusive.
  • Interim hurdle aligns at recent tops beyond 1.1600 the figure, coincident with the 21-day SMA and ahead of the 100-day SMA at 1.1628.
  • A convincing move beyond this area should allow a test of August’s peak at 1.1735 ahead of September’s tops above the 1.1800 milestone.
