Analysts at Nomura offered their outlook for the USD/CNY fox today.

"Our model1 projects the fix to be 249 pips higher than the previous fix (6.5919 from 6.5670) and 177 pips higher than the previous official spot USD/CNY close of 6.5742. The basket implied change is 270 pips higher than the previous official spot USD/CNY close (6.6012 from 6.5742)."

The precious metal’s move higher is also underpinned by the slight pullback in the US Dollar and declining US Treasury yields across the curve.
