US stocks open with solid gains, Nasdaq hits fresh record high

• Investors shrug-off German political turmoil.
• Traders brace of raft of corporate earnings report.
Major US equity indices witnessed a solid start on Tuesday, with tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index hitting fresh record high immediately after the opening bell.
There wasn't any specific catalyst behind today's strong up-move and could be solely attributed to global risk-on trade as investors looked past the uncertainty stemming from the collapse of coalition talks in Germany.
Investors focus on Tuesday would be on a raft of corporate earnings, which along with optimism over Trump's pro-growth economic policies had been one of the key factors driving the markets higher over the past one-year.
At the press time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average recorded triple-digit gains of around 120-points to 23,551, while the broader S&P 500 Index traded 12-points higher at 2,594. Meanwhile, Nasdaq Composite Index outperformed the broader markets and added over 40-points, rising to an all-time high level of 6,832.
