There is no data today from the UK, but Brexit Secretary Davis and the EU’s Brexit negotiator Barnier are formally set to launch Brexit negotiations today, explains the analysis team at TDS.
“After Davis has already said that he could walk out of the talks if he feels that the EU is being unreasonable, markets will be watching to see if that happens today or if things are a bit more agreeable to begin with. A “generous” offer to the UK’s EU citizens has been rumoured in hopes of setting a positive tone for discussions, but it’s not clear the EU will view it as such. A joint Barnier-Davis press conference is scheduled for 5pm BST.”
