Japan: Relief from limited trade deal – TD Securities

Analysts at TD Securities note that there was some relief for Japan and US farmers in the limited trade deal agreed overnight.
Key Quotes
“Trump said the deal would open up Japanese markets to around $7bn of US products, with tariffs on US agricultural products cut. However, note that autos were not covered in the agreement. Japan will be relieved that that section 232 tariffs on Japanese autos will not be implemented, at least for now.”
