  • Sun assures the community that Tron will continue to support USDT technically.

The founder of Tron, Justin Sun has today sent out a tweet saying that he is postponing the planned rewards program for TRC20 and USDT until the time the allegations facing Tether and Bitfinex are cleared.

“I’ve decided to postpone our #USDT rewards program for future updates until there’s more clarity regarding @bitfinex and @Tether_to. Regardless, I firmly believe stablecoins will continue to play a big role in the blockchain space. $TRX.”

In a blog post published on the same Sun said that it was not easy to come around to such a decision due to the fact he has in the last several months concentrated on adding liquidity and stability to the Tron network.

“This was by no means an easy decision. My team and I have been focused for months on bringing stability and liquidity to the TRON community. We are still committed to doing what’s best for the network and will examine our options after hearing how events unfold with Bitfinex and Tether.”

He, however, assured the community that Tron will continue to support USDT technically as well as the swaps; Omni-based USDT and Tron-based USDT.
