Ripple (XRP) payments go live on Google Play and iOS App Store supported by XRPayments

  • Google Play and Apple Store users will soon have access to XRP-backed payments.
  • XRPayments has the ability to convert all the supported smartphones into Point-of-Sale (PoS) system.

XRP users will now be able to pay with the token on both Google Play and iOS App Store following the launch of XRPayments. The platform, XRPayments has been tailor-made to support XRP payments on two of the world’s largest app stores. It is a development of XRPL Labs.

XRPayments has the ability to convert all the supported smartphones into Point-of-Sale (PoS) system focusing on Ripple-backed payments. According to a tweet by XRPL Labs co-founder, Wietse Wind announced the release of the demo of the platform. He added that it was going to be utilized during the upcoming meetup in the Netherlands.

“Right on time! Our XRPayments app was just accepted by Google and Apple. You can get the app now from the Apple iOS or Google Play store, and start accepting $XRP for payments in your physical store!”

Another tweet by Wind showed video of the POS units that will be used in the meetup this coming Saturday. Besides, this is only one of the developments that XRPL Labs is working on to support the adoption of XRP as Weiss Rating recently announced the soon to launch XRP payments on Microsoft’s Skype.
