The largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world in terms of daily trading volume, Binance has signed a memorandum of understanding with a leading digital organization in Jersey referred to as Digital Jersey. This organization has established itself as the leading provider of support services such as working spaces for tech companies that set up base in the small country. It is focused on making Jersey an “internationally recognized center of digital excellence.”

The Binance is going to start an exchange in Jersey, besides the collaborating parties have committed to developing blockchain infrastructure. Significantly, Digital Jersey has promised to help Binance speed up its Exchange License from the Jersey authorities in addition to obtaining banking permits. The collaboration is expected to bring more training schemes at the same time it could create at least 40 new jobs for the island. The CEO of Digital Jersey, Tony Moretta said in a comment:

”We look forward to collaborating with Binance to develop their exchange and compliance function in Jersey, deliver blockchain training as part of our digital skills programme and support the growth of new start-ups in this area.”

Binance set up an operational base in Malta in the first quarter of 2018. Malta has already witnessed more trading volumes in the few months Binance has been there. The exchange is also working on launching crypto to fiat trading later this year. The CEO of Binance, Zhao Changpeng also said:

“We have chosen Jersey to be the next big step in our global expansion strategy for its clear and pro-crypto investment and regulatory environment. With its local economy based on a major currency (GBP), and its close proximity to the UK and Western Europe, we are confident the cooperation with Jersey will not only benefit the local economy, but also form a strong operational foundation for our expansion into the rest of Europe.”
