Oil prices dropped 2% on Wednesday as U.S. Crude Oil output in 2018 is expected to grow to a record high according to a monthly report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Gold climbed this week as investors sought a safe haven in the yellow metal after the dollar weakened and global stocks tumbled on the back of rising bond yields. Gold keeps the bid tone well in place at the end of the week, now hitting fresh weekly highs and retargeting the key $5,100 mark per troy ounce. The move higher in the yellow metal comes in response to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and modest losses in the US Dollar.
