US: Fed speak to overshadow data releases - TDS

Analysts at TDS suggest that the US data calendar will be overshadowed by a number of Fed officials scheduled to speak.

“San Francisco Fed President (and leading candidate for NY Fed) Williams will give an economic outlook at 9:15 ET, which will be followed by an audience Q&A and press conference. Governor Quarles continues his second day of congressional testimony at 10:00 ET and Philadelphia Fed President Harker will speak at 11:00 ET. Chicago Fed President Evans and Atlanta Fed President Bostic are also scheduled discuss the outlook in afternoon speeches.”
“Looking to the data, the market expects housing starts to rise 2.4% to 1266k in March, representing a partial recovery after a 7% decline the prior month, while permits are expected to rise 0.3%. Meanwhile, consensus looks for industrial production to post a 0.4% increase in March, with manufacturing production up a muted 0.1%.”
