PBOC sets USD/CNY central rate at 6.5079 versus 6.5342 previous

On Tuesday, the Chinese central bank, PBOC, sets USD/CNY central rate at 6.5079 versus Friday’s 6.5342, with the Yuan at the highest levels versus the US dollar since September 11^th, 2017.

The PBOC skipped open market operations (OMOs) for the seventh straight session today while draining a net CNY 290 billion in reverse repos.

The precious metal’s move higher is also underpinned by the slight pullback in the US Dollar and declining US Treasury yields across the curve.
