Fed's Bostic: sees three rate hikes in 2018

Continuing with his earlier comments about the economic outlook, during his scheduled speech at the Knoxville Economics Forum, Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic was further noted saying:

• His model has three rate hikes in 2018
• Keeping an open mind to path once rates get to neutral
• Fed should stop raising rates and take stock of economy once at neutral
• Sees no signs of overheating
• If economy looks to be overheating, could tighten more
• Taking a 'wait and see' attitude on assessing effect of proposed China tariffs
• Totally agree not on the cusp of surging inflation

The precious metal’s move higher is also underpinned by the slight pullback in the US Dollar and declining US Treasury yields across the curve.
