Breaking News: EUR/USD gains ground as Democrats look strong in Florida

Votes are being counted in the US Mid-Term Elections and Democrats are outperforming expectations in the all-important state of Florida. Democrats are enjoying significant leads in the races for Governor, the Senate, and also House races. According to FiveThirtyEight, Democrats now have a 95% chance of winning the House. 

The US Dollar is falling and the EUR/USD is surging to 1.1467 at the time of writing. The GBP/USD is also on the move, trading around 1.3140.

Kentucky 6th is the first district of interest. It voted for Trump by 15% but opinion polls showed a very tight race. Pundits say that a Democrat win in the district implies a "blue wave", an overwhelming win for the Democrats in the House. A Republican win leaves the door open for any result.

Also in Kentucky, the race is surprisingly close, a result that implies a significant advantage for the opposition party.

Update: The Republicans are seeing improving chances according to the latest numbers.
