More than excuse to sell

S&P 500 and Russell 2000 had every reason to run following the favorable inflation data, yet they couldn‘t get their act together. Tariffs ruling, Powell situation and Iran have captured market‘s attention, and it‘ll be up to tariffs news to probably generate some kind of risk-taking relief.

It must be though clearly said that stocks are having trouble pushing higher and keeping gains amid improving breadth and depth of the market – and that makes it vulnerable and jittery, further illustrated by the below divergent volatility metrics (that make it difficult to Russell 2000 as well). No trending stock market really, so do rely way less on moving averages – trading strategy and tools have to adjust to failed breakouts and failed breakdowns.
