Dear Fellow Star-Gazers,

Happy Full Moon – and Winter Solstice!

You may remember that in my last letter I anticipated a downturn from December 3rd. This proved to be the case and yes, I do think that this heralds difficult times ahead. The fear index is rising. This is entirely appropriate given that in the coming months the accent on and eventual build-up of planets in the sign of Capricorn is considerable.

Some of my colleagues are already determining December 2020 as being the time of the ‘Great Financial Reset’. Certainly it seems that global indices will soon reach the buffers. Yet it is not all gloom during 2019.

Certainly I anticipate high drama around the lunar eclipse on January 21st. Indeed, between next month's Solar Eclipse on January 7th and the lunar on 21st, we should anticipate a rollercoaster market ride: although if markets do fall substantially into the lunar eclipse, they might quickly rebound. No one should be fooled by this, as further corrections are probable in 2019.

Throughout much of next year the two planets Jupiter and Neptune are at apparent right angles to one another: bringing the considerable potential for further bubbles to appear in many markets. The two planets separate in the last quarter of the year during which time we reach the 90th anniversary of the 1929 crash. This, I think, is highly significant. Whilst I think it unlikely that there will be an exact repeat of that event, in October 2019 ‘collective genetic memory’ could bring real panic – though it is always possible that there will be recovery within a matter of weeks. You can hear more about all this if you order the recording of my 2019 forecast (see below).

What though of the next few weeks? Already this December Full Moon (exact on the world axis) has provided a challenge to newscasters as they determine which news story should take priority. From the shutdown in the United States, to the Brexit question and to the closure of Gatwick airport in the UK which has brought subsequent misery for many, feelings have clearly run high. Whilst I anticipate that there might be a little recovery in stock markets before the end of December, the Sun’s alignment with Saturn on January 2 suggests that even if traders manage to close 2018 with a small upswing, that a gloomy mood will mark the start of 2019.

It may be useful to know that as of January 1st 2019, Mars moves into Aries (and yes, those born under that sign could start the year in fight mode). With the Sun, Mars, Mercury (from 5th), Saturn, Uranus and Pluto all in Cardinal signs, the emphasis on these ‘highly decisive’ signs of the zodiac suggests strong moves – amongst which will likely be warning of rising interest rates. Think of what happens on a ship if everyone moves to one side: there is danger of capsize. Certainly that threat may be very real even as it’s off-set by soothing words from those anxious to make clear that there will be no re-run of 2008.

There won’t be: the next crisis is very different indeed to that earlier time. What must be remembered however is that since 2008 borrowing hasn’t reduced and that difficulties remain. I am still of the opinion that as in the 1930s, many banks will fail in the next few years and that governments will be powerless to stop this.

This is not to say that I am totally gloomy about the future. Some of you will know that I was incapacitated by flu and had to defer my 2019 webinar. I think that this may have been a good thing. Rest provided the opportunity to read and re-think.

It seems to me that there will be some very good investment to be made in 2019. These broadly come under the umbrella of Gemini. I will be keeping a close eye on IPOs announced around the last Quarter Moon in Gemini on August 23rd.  Yes, that is a long way ahead, but there is much for me to learn about rapidly developing block-chain technologies. I suggest that you too monitor developments in the worlds of travel and communication: promising growth areas in the next decade.

Though I am not sure that my editor will be delighted, this extra reading and thinking time has prompted the outline of an extra chapter to the new book (to be launched at the NCGR Baltimore conference in late August 2019). In this chapter I intend to explore Gemini-related companies in depth.

CURRENCIES

If you have attended any of my talks in the last few years then you will know that I am fixated on the arrival of new (not necessarily digital) currencies pre 2020. For these to emerge, it is probable that lack of trust in existing currencies and wildly fluctuating exchange rates will lead the way. Whilst these variations continue and with worries about markets increasing, for many people the lure of gold will surely be irresistible. And yes, I do expect highs here in March 2020. It might be as wise however to consider alternative (yes, digital) currencies – something I intend to explore in a presentation in Florida in February and subsequently in another webinar.

For now, and especially at this time of year, it’s surely wise to focus on the wealth that really matters: family and friends.

Wishing you all a healthy and happy 2019 and hoping that our paths will cross.

Yours from the stars,

Christeen
