Dear Fellow Star-gazers,

And so I find myself in Montreal, Canada for this Cancer-Capricorn Full Moon. In keeping with that axis, though looking forward to my workshop there, I will also be drawing a line (I hope!) under a 100 year old family ‘mystery’.

VIOLENCE

Of course I am aware that the planetary picture around this Full Moon doesn’t look good: it could be argued that it’s a violent combination. That’s already showing in the demonstrations in Hamburg. What a weekend for a G20 meeting! It’s going to require nerves of steel for certain political leaders NOT to be drawn into conflict either now, or in the days leading into the NEXT Full Moon – which is also a lunar eclipse.

I note that President Trump has Mars lines through North Korea and a Mars-Saturn paran through Tehran. With his Mars triggered from late July, it will surely be difficult for him to do nothing.

ECLIPSE

One of my many concerns in 2017  is the 45 degree angle between Uranus and Neptune that’s geocentrically exact on August 11th – i.e. between the lunar (7th) and solar (21st) eclipse. During these ‘eclipse window’ period, people – and markets – tend to act differently, breaking habits and acting, at times, quite out of character and arguably without thought for the long-term consequences.

FRAUD AND CYBER ATTACK

This particular Uranus-Neptune cycle began back in 1990 when the Internet was in its infancy. I suspect that few imagined that the term ‘hacker’ would be associated with corruption of what would have been thought of as a force for good. We now know differently. Already in 2017 there have been at least two major Internet-related ‘disasters’. I am fearful that the next will affect us all more directly than has so far been the case. Since this aspect coincides within 48 hours of Mercury’s retrograde station in Virgo, and though I hope that I am wrong, I fear global internet chaos. As I understand it, the chaos caused by the recent attack has not yet been resolved causing the share price in several companies to fall as they repair and then invest in better security.

It doesn’t matter if I am wrong, but please do ensure that you are backed up and that you are as safe and secure as you can be. Yes, I am writing about an event that takes place AFTER the next Full Moon, but this task is one that should perhaps be started ‘as soon as’.

GROWTH AREAS

Plastics and the Oceans are also likely to receive growing attention during this phase of the Uranus-Neptune cycle. There is a suggestion that one aisle in each supermarket should be designated ‘plastic free’. It will be interesting to see if this idea catches on in the coming months and what opportunities that will bring.

And then there is ‘The Cloud’. As Saturn has made its way past critical degrees in Mutable sign Sagittarius, many of the tech ‘giants’ have experienced loss in their share value. Further losses are to be expected before the end of the year. And yet, firms working within the field of cyber-security should do well. Look out for these – especially those which come to market post the solar eclipse on August 21st.

PRECIOUS METALS AND THE VIX

Frankly, and though I suspect that gold (in particular) will see lows tested in the coming weeks, it is this, silver and the VIX (volatility index) in which I have greatest interest presently. With precious metals, I am expecting prices to recover after a fall – starting mid-September (though yes, there could be another dip early October). First though we have to get through the eclipse period. Looking back to similar conditions in 2008, gold fell from $930 to $740. If history repeats, then there may be another buying opportunity in the coming weeks. Please note that I am expecting gold and silver to do much, much better from late October.

SUN-MARS-LEO

For the first time in 15 years, the Sun and Mars form a conjunction in Leo on July 27th (if your birthday is within 24 hours of this date, it’s reasonable to expect a corker of a year – super busy with, perhaps, something to celebrate as Mars arrives at quintile phase with Jupiter).

With Mars ‘burnt’ by the Sun a fusion of extra-ordinary energy is probable. Market-wise this could lead to losses even in areas usually deemed reliable. Though not all indices react in the same way, trading between now and the solar eclipse on August 21st should surely be left to experts.

Yes, I am expecting highs in most markets but doubt that these will be sustained. I would prefer not to run risks from July 27th.

HIGH STAKES AND GAMBLES

On August 3rd, Uranus stations (in Aries) and a day later, Jupiter and Pluto reach Last Quarter phase. If the planets really do play a ‘music of the spheres’, then this alignment just a couple of days before the lunar eclipse, suggests something discordant and very, very loud. Shocks and reverberations are probable in the financial world – perhaps super-fines for those who have flouted the law. Government agencies could be affected too with shut-downs possible if debts aren’t repaid. Whoever is involved, they will surely be playing for high stakes and could prompt a political earthquake.

Theresa May (sadly no time of birth available) could find this a tough time. Yet she may not be the only leader who could be caught out by potentially sudden, shocking upheaval.

AND NOW FOR SOMETHING NEW: DRACONIC ASTROLOGY

Earlier this year I lectured in the Eclipse Mastery Course. The interest in my offering on Draconic Astrology exceeded my expectation but has given rise to another newsletter. If you would like to subscribe to this, please reply to this email and we will add you to the list. I hope that a dedicated website will be up and running in September.

For now, looking forward to experiencing this Full Moon from the Canadian side of the pond.

With all good wishes

Yours from the Stars

Christeen
