EUR/USD: minor support at 1.1040

EURUSD longs at 1.1010/00 work perfectly as we hit 1.1050/60 & 1.1075/85, perhaps as far as 1.1110/20 today. Exit any remaining longs & try shorts with stops above 1.1140. Minor support at 1.1040/35 then a buying opportunity at 1.1010/00 with stops below 1.0980. An unexpected break below here kills the buy signal targeting 1.0950/40 & 1.0905/00 before the swing low at 1.0883/77.

USDCAD first resistance at 1.3205/10, 2nd resistance at 1.3230/40 but a break higher today meets a selling opportunity at 1.3260/70, with stops above 1.3285. Minor support at last week's low at 1.3166. A break lower retests the September low at 1.3133/29 & below here targets 1.3105/00.

EUR/USD hits two-day highs near 1.1820

EUR/USD picks up pace and reaches two-day tops around 1.1820 at the end of the week. Cable’s rebound comes as the Greenback slips away from two-week highs in response to some profit-taking mood and speculation of Fed rate cuts. In addition, hawkish comments from the BoE’s Pill are also collaborating with the quid’s improvement.

Gold climbs further, focus is back to 45,000

Gold regains upside traction and surpasses the $4,900 mark per troy ounce at the end of the week, shifting its attention to the critical $5,000 region. The move reflects a shift in risk sentiment, driving flows back towards traditional safe haven assets and supporting the yellow metal.
