US GDP grows 1.1% in the second quarter

US gross domestic product increased at an annual rate of 1.1% in the second quarter of 2016, according to the "second" estimate released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
The reading came in line with expectations and was a tad slower than the 1.2% grow previously reported.
The PCE price index increased 2.0%, compared with an increase of 0.3%. Excluding food and energy prices, the PCE price index increased 1.8%, compared with an increase of 2.1%.
