RBNZ’s Orr: Economic activity in New Zealand is returning to its pre-COVID-19 levels

“Economic activity in New Zealand is returning to its pre-COVID-19 levels,” the Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) Governor Adrian Orr said while discussing the strategic priorities laid out in the Statement of Intent earlier on.
The encouraging comment comes after New Zealand lowered the COVID-19 alert level in the capital city of Wellington early Tuesday.
Market reaction
NZD/USD keeps its range near daily lows of 0.7024 on the above comments, having eased from daily highs of 0.7052 after the RBNZ’s SOI implied economic policy settings normalization over the medium term amid improvement in the country’s covid situation.
