IMF: Global inflation expected to recede to pre-pandemic levels by mid-2022

In an article published on Wednesday, the International Monetary Fund said that it expects the headline consumer price inflation to peak globally this fall before receding to pre-pandemic levels by mid-2022, per Reuters.
Prolonged input supply shortages, food and housing price pressures, currency depreciation could keep inflation elevated longer, the IMF further added but also noted that inflation expectations have remained stable so far through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Market reaction
These comments don't seem to be impacting the market mood. As of writing, the S&P Futures were down 0.92% on the day.
