German election: ARD exit poll shows Merkel comfortably on the lead

With all German polling stations closed at 6 p.m., the first exit polls, released by German public broadcaster ARD is out.
ARD shows Angela Merkel’s conservatives leading in the polls at 32.5 percent, with Martin Schulz’s SPD projected to obtain 20 percent of the votes.
