"If China's 2017 economic growth will surpass 6.8 percent or 6.9 percent, the growth rate for 2018 will not be lower than 6.5 percent", said Fan Hengshan, the vice secretary general with the National Development and Reform Commission.

The upbeat comments have not offered any help to China's proxy, AUD.
