China Jan Trade (CNY terms): Surplus expands as exports surge

The General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China released January month trade balance data this Thursday, with the figures broadly surpassing the estimates.
Key Details
In Yuan terms, the trade balance rose to 271.42 billion Chinese Yuan (CNY) versus prior release of 395 billion CNY.
Looking at the greater detail, it can be known that the imports bounced to 2.9% during the first month of 2019 versus -3.1% registered in Dec 2018. The exports jumped +13.9% compared to +0.3% previous.
