Top of the line is the 10 year yield and its driving NZD. The 2 and 10 yields are running 0.85 and +15 basis points from 0.70 on December 29. The 10 year yield ran +12 basis points from current 1.10 from 0.98.

Overall NZD driver is the 10 year yield and 2 and 10 spread.

EUR/USD flirts with daily highs, retargets 1.1900

Gold clings to gains just above $5,000/oz

Gold is reclaiming part of the ground lost on Wednesday’s marked decline, as bargain-hunters keep piling up and lifting prices past the key $5,000 per troy ounce. The precious metal’s move higher is also underpinned by the slight pullback in the US Dollar and declining US Treasury yields across the curve.
