US State Department: Not aware of any deal to secure release of Pastor Brunson

Contradicting with reports from earlier today claiming that Pastor Brunson would be released on Friday, the U.S. State Department recently said that they were not aware of any deal to secure the release of Pastor Brunson.

This development allowed the USD/TRY pair to recover from the weekly low it set near 5.90 earlier in the session. As of writing, the pair was still down 3.5% on the day near 5.94.
