UK’s Hunt to Japan's PM Abe: UK determined to avoid no-deal Brexit

Reuters is out with more comments from the UK Foreign Secretary Hunt, following his meeting with the Japanese PM Shinzo Abe in Tokyo.

Hunt reassured PM Abe that the UK government was determined to avoid a no-deal exit from the European Union (EU).

“We recognize that Japan has many investments employing hundreds of thousands of people in the U.K. We want strong cooperation to continue,” Hunt noted.

EUR/USD flirts with weekly lows near 1.1770

Gold is now facing some downside pressure, hovering around the $5,170 region on Thursday. The precious metal adds to Wednesday’s optimism despite the Greenback trades in a firm fashion, although geopolitical tensions in the Middle East keep the yellow metal bid for now.
