Cryptocurrencies Price Prediction: Altcoins, OKB & Crypto – European Wrap 13 August

Altcoins to watch this week: AAVE, CRV, and ARB

Altcoins are gaining momentum this week, with Aave (AAVE), Curve DAO (CRV), and Arbitrum (ARB) standing out as top contenders for further gains due to a favourable technical setup. AAVE steadies near $321 after a strong rally, CRV pushes higher above $1 with eyes on $1.33, and ARB edges closer to a key resistance level that, if breached, could pave the way for gains of more than 20%.

OKB surges after OKX cuts supply with massive token burn

OKB, the native token of OKX’s X layer, surges over 150% at press time on Wednesday, fueled by the announcement of a 65 million token burn that led to a sharp decline in the total supply cap to 21 billion tokens.

Crypto market cap hits $4 trillion

The global crypto market has reached $4 trillion USD for the first time, with a daily jump of $48.6 billion (+1.21%)

This surge, fueled by both Bitcoin and altcoin gains since the 2022 FTX collapse recovery, marks a major milestone. Bitcoin’s market dominance has climbed from 40% in late 2022 to 66% by mid-2025, showing its growing influence over the entire sector and challenging the idea of altcoin-led growth. Although ETH price might signal a change.
