FTSE 100 recovery continues

The FTSE 100 continues to recover recent losses, says Chris Beauchamp, Chief Market Analyst at online trading and investing platform IG.

FTSE 100 claws back losses

Oil prices head lower

Oil has proven unable to hold on to its gains from earlier in the day, leaving the commodity in the control of sellers. Eurozone inflation just hit 3.8%, its highest in three years. This chart shows why the ECB can’t simply hike its way out

The ECB would normally have a relatively straightforward answer to inflation running almost twice its target: raise interest rates. But these are not normal circumstances.
