1. We expect another exciting market week.

We are SELECTIVELY bullish intermediate term, but not because of interest rate cuts (“Bad news is Bad news IMHO), but because of Trump’s Horoscope.

Still it is not yet safe to swim in the water without a lifeguard watching!

2.

  • Shares of Chewy (CHWY) opened Friday 72% above the $22 initial public offering price; CHWY first trade was at $36 at 11:03 am June 14, 2019.
  • Beyond meat (BYND) is now on our Short Watch list (AFTER the current short squeeze ends).

There are so many quality undervalued commodity stocks. Stock selection is however, important. Like many others will be looking buying stocks sporting strong cash flows, sound balance sheets and growing dividends.

Actively managed portfolios are deservedly outperforming index funds in the current bifurcated markets.

3. Gold Miners Could Reward Long-Suffering Shareholders

HW: As soon as this August, if not before.

Last week we had our successful take out of $1350 resistance. Now $1340 support will be tested. If/when it holds, Thereafter $1365-$1375 sooner or later.

Gold bugs should be happy this coming August!  Still gold bears are not yet ready to give up but over time, THEY WILL!

We continue to recommend Maximum Allocation or fresh precious and base metal investments for the  intermediate and long term, given that the precious metal sector and copper are obviously very undervalued!

With seasonal weakness and unfavorable astro gone in June,

we advise precious metal investors to pay attention to stock selection and start to add this JUNE/SUMMER 2019.

  • Gold remains cheap geopolitical crisis insurance.
  • For investors who cannot or will not buy the $US currency as well as investors who wish to safely and cheaply hedge their US$ exposure, ONLY GOLD IS AS GOOD AS GOLD!

Gold FV $1372 = Commodity FV: 1348 + Currency FV: 1380 + Inflation Metal FV: 1360 + Crisis FV: 1400.

Gold/Silver ratio à 80  Silver FV $17+.

INVESTORS: We plan to stay LONG into H2 2019 (recommending a precious metal sector hold rating and only occasional hedging, selling or profit taking).

We remain disinclined to short or sell until gold is overvalued e.g. $1400-1450. For silver our first selling numbers remain $20+.

4.  “The market wanted to go up. I don’t think it mattered what happened. We just use these things as a reason after the fact to look smart. That’s how it works. It’s not meant to be intellectually satisfying. It’s meant to take money away from people who think they can explain things. Worst traders and managers I know are the guys with answers for all this stuff. Get used to it.”

Josh Brown CEO, Ritholtz Wealth Management

HW: Unless of course the answers “come from heaven”

“I think there could be a real disappointment with the Fed’s message as 10-year rates have fallen 45 [basis points] in the last 30 days the market could set itself up for a yield selloff

Thomas di Galoma, managing director, Seaport Global Holdings

HW: We hope so and we are betting on it big time!

“If trade talks completely fall apart and we have a permanent negative impact on our trade relations with China, then we’d get a rate cut, but we don’t expect one otherwise.”

Tom Simons, money market economist, Jefferies

HW: If they act truly like wise men, that will be so.

Oil Short-Selling Surges as Global Demand Outlook Deteriorates

International stocks just can’t compete with the U.S. market right now

6.  READER: What exactly key dates mean?  On that dates market goes down or goes up or anything can happen?

Is there any way to specify whether it is positive or negative dates?

HW: These are dates usually of important market news or astrological events.

We include our short term trading views in premium wall street editions, not in our weekly investing/positional editions.
