BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin ETF breaks $70B barrier faster than any ETF in history

BlackRock’s spot Bitcoin ETF has become the fastest-growing ETF ever, reaching $70 billion in assets under management.

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has officially surpassed $70 billion in assets under management (AUM), making it the fastest ETF in history to hit this milestone. This rapid growth highlights massive investor interest in Bitcoin through regulated financial products.

Launched in January 2024, IBIT has seen consistent daily inflows and outpaced all other ETFs in attracting capital. Its success has now pushed it ahead of long-standing giants, like the SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), in terms of growth rate.

The ETF recently saw a return to net inflows, recording $274 million in a single day, after experiencing outflows during a broader crypto market downturn. Analysts view this as a sign of renewed confidence, with the fund attracting both retail and institutional investors.

BlackRock’s strong reputation and the rising popularity of Bitcoin ETFs have been key to IBIT’s record-setting performance. Its rapid climb underscores how traditional finance is increasingly embracing crypto as a mainstream investment option.
