Gold/Silver are clearing a pathway

  • The dollar gets sold yesterday but bought overnight....
  • Bond Boys have their say...

Good Day... And a Tub Thumpin' Thursday to you! Well, the aftermath of the mid-terms came out like I said they probably would, with stocks going through the roof! Gold & Silver also continued their rally, and lunch with my former classmates was yummy... The Steve Miller Band greets me this morning with his great song: Serenade...

I really want to know what causes the dollar to be sold suddenly. For it has been sold, albeit only 1 index point for a week now.. The Mid-terms are over, and if you believe what the pundits have been calling for, the fighting between the U.S. and Iran will begin again soon... And the last time we started the war with Iran the dollar rallied... I thought for sure, get the mid-terms over, and the war started again, and we'll see dollar strength...

So, yesterday, the BBDXY (The true dollar index) was down 2 index points bringing the BBDXY to 1,217... It's falling, but it's taking its good, sweet time, eh? Anyway, the euro, the offset currency to the dollar, is back above 1.12 and that's a good thing...

Gold / Silver really rallied yesterday, with Gold gaining $122 on the day to close at $4,061. Silver gained $2.80 and closed at $52.36 and they were on their way... It's getting to be wintertime, and with the winter on its way, so too are the rallied for Gold/ Silver...

The price of Oil had its worst day in month of Sundays as it lost $7 to end the day with an $88 handle... So, on one hand we have ½ the pundits calling for the war to start up again, and the other ½ saying that the new party will end the war... It'll be a tug-o-war between the two until the war begins again or a peace proposal is accepted.

And the 5-year Treasury bond is really seeing the panic in the bonds going away... The yields are still high, but not as high as they were... The 5-year closed yesterday with a 4.88% yield...

In the overnight markets last night... The dollar's run of getting sold came to an end last night, as the dollar came back and gained 2 index points to move the BBDXY to 1,220... it was about time that my dream that the dollar would rally on the mid-terms came true... It's tru, it's tru I did see a putty tat! HA!

Gold and Silver are continuing their days of rebounding, as Gold has gained $73 to start our day... And Silver has gained 64-cents to start the day... These two are clearing the way for Platinum, Palladium and Copper to get back to gaining after a couple of weeks of seeing their values shrink because of the selling.

The price of Oil bumped higher after yesterday's sell off.... Oil sits this morning at $89.04.

And the 10-year Treasury stayed at 4.88% yield last night... The bonds boys may have moved the bond higher too quickly and taken back the yield just as quickly... But they are in charge, and I should never question their motives...

I received a text last night that said that the losing party wanted my feedback.... I deleted it, because the reason they were the losing party is because of the war with Iran... plain and simple... and the cost of living increase....I'm sure that every person they texted told them that, they didn't need me piling on...

I think that voters accepted the tariffs, they didn't like the cost rising that the tariffs caused,,, But, seriously... for how much longer were we as citizens going to allow the foreign countries to rip us off with their high prices? Ok, I'll quit now....

I think that Gold going back over $4,000 is telling us that the metals market has rebounded significantly... Remember there is a rate hike coming on 12/9, but if the last rate hike holds any water, then Gold doesn't need to too worried about the rate hike... But keep in mind that that was an anomaly, and Gold could be negatively affected by a rate hike...

The Chapwood Index puts out a Cost-of-Living report, so let's listen to what they have to say: "The Real Cost of Living Increase Index It exposes why middle-class Americans — salaried workers who are given routine pay hikes and retirees who depend on annual increases in their corporate pension and Social Security payments — can’t maintain their standard of living. Plainly and simply, the Index shows that their income can’t keep up with their expenses."

Well, something has to be done about that for sure... But we are not alone in this... The European Central Bank recent reported that wage earning were slightly higher in the last year, and that median consumer perceptions of inflation over the past 12 months and expectations for inflation over the next 12 months increased slightly. These reports could definitely move the ECB to hike rates and make things even more expensive.

And wages in China have gone higher too... The renminbi has been on a roll, but if China decides to hike rates, the currency will look to go to the moon!

But, we live and breathe in the U.S. and therefore, we more concerned with the cost of living in the U.S. not abroad... But investors with euros, and renminbi, will take exception to that idea, but rate hike could take those currencies higher VS the dollar. I'm just saying...

The U.S. Data Cupboard had the ADP Employment Report for Rocktober yesterday and it came in at plus 86,000 new jobs created... This is still below a strong economy would create... But it will be interesting with the Jobs Jamboree prints tomorrow. What will the BLS cook up for us, now?

We also saw the Sept Trade Deficit, and it came in about the same as the previous month's print, which was $105 Billion... we were forecast to come in much higher, but we stayed at $105B...

Today's Data Cupboard has the Weekly Initial Jobless Claim for last week will print along with the STUPID Productivity Costs... which is expected to rise from 1.4% to 2.9%... We as Americans must be working more... I'm just saying

To recap... The dollar continues to get sold, and Gold and Silver have HUGE rallies... The cost of living as measured by the Chapwood Group, is causing problems among us... And we're not alone...

For What It's Worth... every now and then it's good to check on the sanctions on Russia... This time I'm talking about Gold...

Here's your snippet: "Hong Kong and the UAE have replaced London as the main buyers of Russian gold since 2022 sanctions, with much of it ending up in China, OSW said.

The G7, the E.U. and Switzerland banned imports of Russian gold in mid-2022, cutting Moscow off from a market that had taken almost all of its exports, most of it through the U.K. Russia has kept finding buyers regardless, according to a report by Iwona Wisniewska and Maciej Kalwasinski of the Warsaw-based Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW), published on October 30. Moscow stopped publishing gold export and production data after the invasion of Ukraine, so the authors pieced the picture together from incomplete mirror statistics reported by Russia's trading partners.

Sanctions have redirected Russian gold rather than stopped it. Bullion has turned into a settlement currency for sanctioned importers, a channel for capital flight and a reserve the state is now selling to plug the budget, while China has become the end buyer, building on the record purchases it made from Russia late last year.

Russia has been the world's second-largest gold producer after China since 2019."

Chuck Again... I find this interesting is that I warned when we placed the sanctions that they would be difficult to sheriff... I'm just saying...

That's all for today and this week... I laughed and laughed at my classmates yesterday. they are such a funny group... But I won't see them until I get back from Florida, which should be April... I haven't been eating much as I don't feel hungry to eat... I wonder what's up with that? Oh well, it's a way to lose weight, and the Good Lord knows I need to do that! Well, my beloved Mizzou Tigers play Mighty Texas at home on Saturday... A win here would be HUGE! And maybe they'll follow up a Mizzou Basketball win Friday night! Patty Smith Group takes us the finish line today with the song: Because The Night... ( I love her and Dolores O'Riordan's of the Cranberries, voices) I hope you have a Tub Thumpin' Thursday today, and a wonderful weekend... and ... Please Be Good To Yourself!
