US Deputy National Security Adviser: Looking at ways to cut consumption of Russian oil

Earlier on, in an interview with CNN News, US Deputy National Security Adviser Daleep Singh said that the Biden administration is looking at ways to cut the US consumption of Russian oil.

Separately, the Japanese broadcaster NTV is reporting that Japan Air Lines has canceled all flights scheduled to and from Europe Thursday.

Market reaction

The market mood remains tepid, despite the rally seen in the Asian indices, as anxiety over the Russia-Ukraine war persists. The focus remains on the second round of peace talks between the two warring nations, especially after Wednesday’s reports of a likely ceasefire.

The S&P 500 futures are fluctuating between gains and losses, modestly flat on the day.
