UK Q3 final GDP arrives at 1.7% y/y versus 1.5% expected

The UK GDP third estimate showed that the GDP figures came in at 0.4% q/q in the third quarter of 2017, same as that seen in the previous readout while coming in line with expectations.
While on an annualized basis, the UK economy’s growth rate accelerated to 1.7% in Q3, beating the consensus forecasts of 1.5% and 1.9% last (revised up from 1.5%).
Separately, the UK Q3 current deficit data missed estimates, widening by GBP -22.78 billion versus a decrease of GBP -20.20 billion expected and GBP -25.82 billion last.
