Ireland's Coveney: Extension of Brexit transition period cannot be an alternative to Irish backstop

Ireland's Foreign Minister Simon Coveney, as quoted by Irish Times, was noted saying that an extension of the post-Brexit transition period cannot be an alternative to the Northern Ireland backstop.
He was further quoted saying that there will be no withdrawal agreement without the backstop and that is 'end of story'.
