Vitalik Buterin: Ethereum impending proof-of-stake will be more secure than Bitcoin

  • Ethereum developers who are working on Ethereum 2.0 will see the network migrate to the PoS consensus algorithm.
  • Ethereum is trading at $181 amid a broad-based building bullish trend.

While speaking in Osaka Japan at the Devon 5, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said that the incoming Ethereum upgrade from the proof-of-work consensus algorithm to the proof-of-stake consensus will make Ethereum more secure than Bitcoin over the next five years.

Vitalik said that “Satoshi created a really interesting and great thing and now we can build great things on top of it.”

Mid-through this week’s trading, Ethereum is trading at $181 amid a building bullish trend. The correction is in tandem with the return of the bulls across the crypto market. Ethereum has a market capitalization of $19.78 billion and a 24-hour trading volume of $7 billion.
