Swiss Franc: Range-bound within 0.8245–0.8365 band against US Dollar – UOB

United Overseas Bank (UOB) strategists Quek Ser Leang and Lee Sue Ann describe USD/CHF as consolidating after failing to extend lower, with Monday’s session confined to a narrow range around 0.8310. Intraday, they expect further sideways trading between nearby support and resistance. On a 1–3 week view, they have shifted to a neutral stance, looking for the pair to hold within a broad 0.8245–0.8365 corridor, while longer‑term upside appears limited.

Dollar-Swiss consolidation in broad range

"24-HOUR VIEW: Yesterday, we expected USD to “edge lower to 0.8245.” We were incorrect, as USD traded within a range of 0.8275/0.8323. The current price movements are likely part of a range-trading phase. Today, we expect USD to trade between 0.8290 and 0.8335."

"1-3 WEEKS VIEW: We revised our USD view from positive to neutral last Friday (02 Oct, spot at 0.8310). We highlighted that USD “has likely entered a range-trading phase between 0.8245 and 0.8365.” After USD dropped to a low of 0.8245, we indicated yesterday that “while USD subsequently dropped below 0.8245 with a low of 0.8225, the decline was brief. There has been no increase in downward momentum, and we continue to expect USD to trade between 0.8245 and 0.8365 for now.” There is no change in our view."
