BTC/USD market overview: Price consolidates as Wuabit combines Bitcoin with Whatsapp

  • BTC/USD is currently trading for $3,918.50 as bulls crawled back to score a victory this Tuesday.
  • In a significant step towards mainstream adoption, Wuabit is looking to combine Bitcoin with WhatsApp – the most popular messaging app in the world.

As per Express.co.uk, Bitcoin took a massive step towards mainstream adoption thanks to the emergence of Wuabit. Wuabit is a cryptocurrency wallet accessible via a chat interface in WhatsApp, SMS, and Telegram. Users can send Bitcoins to their connections by merely typing “send 0.01 BTC to X.”

A spokesman told Express.co.uk:

“We are near completing the wallet core service starting with BTC. By using WhatsApp/SMS/Telegram, you can access that wallet easily. Crypto payments via WhatsApp can introduce greater numbers of new users who only know how to chat to this complicated space. Usability is key in user adoption and a great enabler.”

The public beta is due to start next month.

BTC/USD daily chart

Bolstered by the news, the Bulls eked out a victory this Tuesday. The price is consolidating before getting ready for another breakout. It looks like the overall sentiment remains bearish as the moving average convergence divergence (MACD) indicator shows that the signal line is diverging away from the MACD line. The relative strength index (RSI) curve is currently trending in the neutral zone.
