UK March CPI: Downbeat across all indicators

The UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) 12-month rate came weaker at 2.5% in March, down from 2.7% booked in February and against 2.7% anticipated, the UK Office for National Statistics (ONS) reported this Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the core inflation gauge also ticked lower in March, coming in at 2.3% y/y, down from previous month's reading of 2.4% and 2.5% expected.
On monthly basis, the UK inflation dropped to 0.1% in March vs. 0.4% last month and expectations of 0.3%.
