Analysts at Westpac noted that in the US, belief in President Trump’s policy agenda remains intact, aiding confidence in the economy.

"This is despite a seeming impasse on health care reform in the Senate and little–to–no progress on tax and infrastructure. Tensions regarding FBI Director Comey’s sacking are also mounting. 

For the economy, conditions are strong enough for follow–up hikes from the FOMC in June and December, but a terminal rate near 2% is a lot more likely than the FOMC’s 3%."
